Most young adults are still looking for a job at age 23. However, Juliette Brindak, the co-founder and partner of Miss O & Friends, was not one of those young adults. She came up with the idea of Miss O & Friends when she was just ten years old, and launched the website six years later with the help of her family. The site grew organically over the years, and now, it is worth over $15 million with over five million unique visitors on a monthly basis.
Miss O and Friends is a social media website that aims to build the self-esteem of girls ages 8 to 15. It is a safe online environment where girls can just be themselves, support one another, and have fun socializing with each other. This is important because during this period in a girl’s life, puberty is knocking on her door and school is becoming a lot more serious. She may begin developing feelings for boys, girls, or even both. Additionally, Miss O and Friends includes games, quizzes, articles, music, prizes, contests and much more, so that there is a little something for everyone. Most of the content on Miss O & Friends is user generated, which creates a space “by girls, for girls.”
In order for a mother to effectively love and care for her children, she first must love and care for herself. In other words, she needs to have a high self-esteem. She needs to constantly tell herself that she is worthy, that she is capable, and that she can do anything that she sets her mind to. By doing so, she will be more willing to take the necessary risks and challenges to become a successful parent. Additionally, her children will learn from her example, and they too will have the high self-esteem that is necessary to excel in life. Believing in themselves is crucial for a teen mother and her children to achieve independence.
