Spa Day was a fun and relaxing way to focus on health and wellness. A certified massage therapist and community partner through Dallas Women’s Forum, taught moms techniques in infant massage and about the benefits of infant massage. This practice promotes a positive bonding experience for mom and baby, and healthy development in infants. Volunteers covered topics such as skin care, using at home products for facials, nail painting and design techniques, and provided make-up tutorials in order to learn how to apply make-up for a polished, natural look. Our young moms enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about self-care and relaxation techniques, especially because young mothers often don’t focus enough time on self-care.
