When Ava Skidworth came up with the concept of Monster Yogurt, a frozen yogurt store in Dallas, she knew she wanted to do something to give back to the community. The solution? A free coffee bar where patrons are asked to give a donation to a spotlighted community organization in exchange for coffee.
alley’s house had the honor to be the first community charity for the coffee bar. Ava first heard about alley’s house though the Forest Hills Neighborhood association.
“We chose alley’s house as our first community charity because of a deep appreciation of the work that you do,” Ava said. “Many of our employees are teenagers getting their first work experience. alley’s house was a perfect fit!”
“We may not be the largest contributor yet, but we do help the awareness of great organizations that are making a difference and that is something that we believe in,” Ava said.
Customers loved receiving coffee in exchange of a donation to alley’s house.
“Monster Yogurt gives 100% of the proceeds to the featured charity,” Ava said. “That is something that our customers feel good about.”
Monster Yogurt proves that scary not only tastes good, it does good.
