Meet Nayeli
Nayeli and her 17-month-old son, Felipe, have been participating in alley's house programs for about six months. To the 16-year-old mother, alley's house has been a true blessing. "If it wasn't for Allison, I don't know where I would be right now," says Nayeli, about Allison Whitehead, Executive Director.

"Before I came to alley's house I had to deal with a lot of problems at home. With Allison's help and advice, I have been able to focus on the positive in my life and how to deal with my problems in a constructive way."
Nayeli loves everything about alley's house, including the workshops, tutoring, computers and assistance with baby supplies. Her favorite part though, is her relationship with her mentor, Vanessa. Nayeli says that Allison has a real gift of matching clients with mentors. "I was nervous about meeting Vanessa, but we formed an instant connection. I can talk to her about anything," she says. "The relationship was just meant to be."
When Nayeli graduates from high school in a couple years, she plans to either go on to become a doctor or a Web site designer. Her main goal, however, is to make sure that her son is happy. "If he's happy. I'll be happy," she says. Nayeli truly enjoys being a mother and she says the best moments as a mother are waking up in the morning to her son laughing or giving her a hug.
