My life with alley's house
I met Allison of alley's house at Woodrow Wilson High School through a teacher. At that time, everything in my life was going wrong. I was having trouble at school, my son's father was giving me trouble, I was having trouble at home. My attitude was nasty toward everybody that stepped in my face. I was very mean and rude toward Allison. If she said anything to me that I thought was out the way I would just start fussing with her for any reason at all. Allison finally assigned me a mentor named Joy. Joy was a sweet and understanding person. I could talk to her about anything. Then Dee came along (my next mentor). Dee was a real down to earth person. She told me how it was straight out. At that point in my life that was what I needed. I really started trying to change my life when Allison brought in a speaker named Cass. She talked about how her life and her daughter's life changed as a result of her teenage pregnancy. I knew then that my son and I were going to make a difference. Just because I had a baby didn't mean my life stopped. It just meant I had to make a different route to get to where I wanted to go. I began listening to what Allison, Joy, Dee and my mama were saying. I finished school, went to college, and now I'm raising my son and daughter the way alley's house has shown me. Without alley's house I don't know how far I would have got with the attitude I started off with. alley's house has changed my life for the better and it has gave me hope for the future for me and my children.
